BiographyLeila-Beau was a pre-birth diagnosis of down syndrome and chronic heart defect. She was born 3 weeks early as an emergency c-section. The first 8 days of her life were spent in NICU in Southampton before being transferred nearer to home. At 19 weeks old Leila-Beau underwent a massive 9 hour operation to correct her heart defect. After this she spent more time in hospital on 3 different occasions due to pneumonia and bronchiolitis.
From day 1 until present day Leila-Beau has always been tube fed, initially by nasal tube then at 18 months another operation to change to a peg feed and at 4 years old another operation to change to a button feed.
