BiographyFlorence was born normally and showed no signs of her condition until she was 2 and we started to see a plateau in her development. She didn’t start walking properly and was starting to fall. She said a few words and didn’t develop any more. Having the diagnosis was devastating but we had so much support and love from friends and family. I’ve gone on to fundraise for Florence and that gives me the ability to give her the best life. She has continued to regress slowly but I take one day at a time and always hope for a miracle or a breakthrough with a treatment.
She is now 8 and such a happy little girl. Although non mobile and non verbal she has the best smile and a fantastic sense of humour. We’ve been told she won’t live past the age of 10. I treasure every day I get to have with her and concentrate on making beautiful memories for her and her older brother Riccardo. She attends an amazing special needs school where she has lots of friends. I’ve been told what the future holds for Flo but I never give up hope and will continue to give her the best life I can. Feel so so grateful for this wonderful opportunity for Flo to receive a quilt x
