Biography

Archie was injured at the hands of his birth mother and her partner, aged five weeks. He was shaken causing catastrophic brain injuries. Archie wasn’t expected to survive.

We adopted him aged 18 months. Sadly our daughter had died in 2014 aged 14 after suffering similar injuries in 2000. We missed her and wanted to offer another disabled child a permanent loving family. Archie is such a vibrant child so full of life and fun. He is the absolute joy in our lives. He loves school. Archie loves music, football, swimming and gymnastics. He also loves quiz shows particularly Tipping Point. He loves Ninja warriors on tv and the Masked Singer. Archie loves Mr Tumble and Peter rabbit on tv. He loves to visit the theatre particularly the pantomime. Archie loves outings to the beach and farm. He loves the local park.

Archie is the youngest of ten children. He lives in a house full of adults apart from his sister Abigail so likes to be the centre of attention. He has a very demanding personality and is currently being assessed for ADHD. Archie is an adored member of our family and in no way a replacement for our beautiful Maisie; he did give us a reason to go on in our darkest days. Archie has exceeded our wildest dreams and can walk and run. He is even now beginning to speak.

When Archie was three he unfortunately developed a tumour in his left ear . He has required extensive surgery on more than one occasion to clear the tumour. Unfortunately the surgery and tumour have resulted in moderate hearing loss.
