BiographyBailey was a super happy little baby boy. An absolute dream in fact from the day he was born he made everyone smile. As Bailey got a little older and more active we noticed that he used to fall a lot and bruised a lot too. We thought he was just a baby learning to cruise. However, he became more lethargic, more sleepy, less active, he spiked temperatures of 39 plus for 2 weeks and also had up to 16 bruises on his legs. After many hospital trips and finally a blood test, sadly our little baby boy was diagnosed with Bcell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at 10 months old.
He was immediately admitted to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital where he needed a bone marrow biopsy, a lumbar puncture, blood & platelet transfusion and many more things. Since then Bailey has completed months and months of intense iv chemotherapy, numerous lumbar punctures and blood transfusions. We have spent half of his time being with us in hospital.
Bailey is now 1 and a half and has reached his maintenance stage in which he will stay for the rest of his treatment time as he is in remission. He will have 18 months of oral chemo at home. He is still as happy as ever after all he's been through and still continues to fight anything that comes his way.
