Sienna received the most amazing quilt yesterday!!!! Anyone who knows Sienna knows she is utterly obsessed with giraffes!!! Thank you to all the people who made this for her!!! She took it straight to bed and has it again tonight in bed!!

Biography

Sienna is an 8 year old girl. She was born with a large jaw and no one knew what was wrong. When she was 3, she had a MRI and it come back that she had a very large plexiform tumour twisted around her jaw nerves. Constant and regular scans were needed but ultimately no treatment was available. This condition is called neurofibromatosis type 1, where tumours grow within the nerves of body and are inoperable.

In late 2021. Sienna started being unwell a lot. An MRI showed she had developed a brain tumour which also causes fluid and pressure on the brain. She underwent emergency surgery to fit a shunt, and we’ve been waiting since for more treatment to be approved.

Sienna recently started a 2 year course of a brand new oral chemotherapy drug to help shrink her brain tumour and plexiform tumour in her cheek.

She also has autism and adhd. She uses a wheelchair sometimes due to muscle weakness in her legs. She is also slowly going blind in one eye due an optic nerve glioma appearing just before Christmas.
