BiographyWe found out Thea had spina bifida and hydrocephalus while pregnant. Her entire skull was filled with so much fluid it was hard to see anything but a black void on the ultrasound.
But we decided so long as she was fighting to be here, we would fight for her too. When she was born she surprised us with having very complex legs, that are not only paralysed but with knees that bend up not down. Thea has had dozens of casts, and dozens more pairs of orthotics as the wonderful team that supports her tries to help her legs and for her to be able to access equipment.
Thea is now 4 years old. She has been through a lot but always has a smile and is the light of her family's life.
