Biography

Ellis was born not breathing and went 20 mins without oxygen before they managed to revive him. This lack of oxygen led to a grade 3 HIE brain injury. He was ventilated and received cooling therapy, but had seizures in the first few days. His MRI at a few weeks old showed severe brain damage.

He had his gastrostomy surgery at 14 months but after lots of problems with vomiting and slow weight gain this was changed to a peg-j which seems to suit him much better. He recently was diagnosed with epilepsy after not having any seizures since his nicu days and CVI.

Despite all of this he’s the smiliest wee guy and loves watching Miss Rachel and Sesame Street!
