BiographyEadie was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at 20 weeks gestation where we were told she had complex CHD. We had to wait until birth for a full diagnosis of her condition and she is now following a single ventricle pathway and is under the care of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as well as the palliative care team. Up until this day Eadie has already undergone 4 open heart surgeries with more to come in the future if at all possible. Eadie has had a whopping 13 general anaesthetics.
Eadie is a very happy sassy little girl and full of life, she has a love for all things dancing and music and loves the Wiggles.
Eadie doesn’t let her diagnosis get in her way and loves to challenge herself although being on oxygen support often gets tangled in her tubes! She never sits still.
Along with her cardiac diagnosis Eadie is also solely fed through her gastrostomy jejunal tube and takes nothing orally. But, again, this doesn’t stop her from having a try and wanting foods from everyone’s plate. She really does have the biggest personality ever and will make her feelings well known. We wouldn’t change her for the world.
We always try to make every day fun as we don’t know what the future holds for Eadie and this quilt will come with us wherever we may go.
