Biography

From my 20 week scan we knew something was wrong with Lottie but at that time it was her kidneys. At 4 weeks old Lottie had key hole surgery to remove cysts from her left kidney. Since birth Lottie has been on medication for this and has regular ultrasounds. Lottie suffered from seizures until about 8 years old. Lottie didn't walk until she was 2 years old and didn't talk until 7 years old.

We took her to the Children's Assessment Unit to be assessed for her to attend SEND school. There the doctor noticed the skin on her back was different so she then made the decision to have her chromosomes checked. This took 2 years before a diagnosis was made.

Lottie is now 16 and has been through so much all through her life with her health and many challenges to her learning. Lottie has severe learning difficulties. Considering what she has been through and what she faces ahead she is a very happy young lady. Lottie has recently had 4 operations on her legs as 1 is shorter then the other and she struggles daily due to her wonderful feet being deformed. Lottie is the only one in the world with this diagnosis, therefore she has to see Dr Lim every year for updates to add to the medical history book to enable anyone in the future who has this diagnosis to be given more information.
