BiographyScott is now 11 years old.
When Scott was a month old we got the devastating news that he has x-linked myotubular myopathy. Scott has been 24 hour ventilated since birth, he had a tracheostomy and gastrostomy put in at 6 months old.
Scott spent 19 months in hospital whilst training for ourselves and a care team was put in place to help care for Scott at home. This was really difficult as we also had a 17 month old baby at home when Scott was born. Since being home from 19 months, Scott has spent long periods of time in hospital due to various illnesses and undergoing various operations.
Scott is currently doing really well and is in school full time with 1 to 1 care with him at all times whilst there. He's such a happy, quirky and amazingly beautiful young boy. He has 2 siblings a brother and a sister and has a very close relationship with them both. Scott is due to have spinal surgery soon as he has scoliosis and kyphosis but I'm sure he will bounce back and battle on as he always does with a huge smile on his face.
