Biography

Bee arrived in the world 6 weeks premature, spending 18 days in neonatal care. We were informed the day after she was born that doctors suspected the presense of a genetic syndrome and blood samples were taken from our girl. Once home our Bee struggled to thrive and remained tiny and underweight, missing all of her milestones and finding feeding difficult. At 9 months old our girl was admitted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital where Bee underwent a lot of testing. We left 3 weeks later with a diagnosis of Kabuki Syndrome and her additional diagnoses.

Bethany is now 10 years old and we're in the process of searching for the right specialist high school. She is a kind, caring, sweet girl who loves with her whole heart and has never said or done an unkind thing. She works hard at school, she attends both a SEND dance class and a learning disability rugby league session weekly. Despite all of the challenges she's been through she's always got a sunny smile (if a little hormonal at the moment!) and loves to laugh and be silly.
