BiographyLenny had a cardiac arrest and stopped breathing when he was a young baby, and consequently sustained a permanent brain injury, resulting in cerebral palsy.
He cannot sit, stand or walk unaided and is non verbal. He has been through a lot of pain and frustration in his life because of this.
Last year he had to have both his hips reconstructed as they were dislocating. This was a huge operation, after which he was in a plaster cast from his waist to his ankles on both legs, and in a lot of pain. He has worked really hard in the last 12 months to regain the strength and movement in his legs, but he is still often very uncomfortable at night.
Despite this, he is usually very cheerful, determined, and always gives his best. He is able to communicate using an eye gaze computer, and he can drive a powered wheelchair using his head to operate special switches on his head rest.
He would love to have a quilt made especially for him.
