Biography

Milo was unwell for 6 months before his diagnosis. Lots of tests showed he had kidney problems but nothing more. Milo had just started high school and every day was vomiting and losing so much weight. He lost 4.5 stone and was finally diagnosed with t-cell leukaemia and our whole world came crashing down. We were taken to London on blue lights which was the wrong hospital but they gave us a diagnosis!

We were then taken to Southampton Hospital, the most amazing hospital. Milo had deteriorated so much and was taken into intensive care and put on dialysis. He was extremely unwell with fluid on the brain and had a seizure. Moving forwards Milo lost all mobility and had to learn to walk again. It's been a horrendous journey and he is my absolute hero. I am so grateful to all the amazing staff and treatment that has allowed Milo's recovery. He is now a young man, not the little boy he was. He has had to grow up too soon with no school in over 2 years. Our community nurses are incredible and Milo has the most amazing bond with all of them. He lost his hair 4 times but literally is so brave even though he is holding in so much hurt and pain.
