BiographyBella-Skye was born at 29 weeks, 11 weeks early. She spent 8 weeks in the neonatal ward before we could bring her home. Bella-Skye was home for 4 weeks when she stopped feeding and became irritable and lethargic. By the time we got to hospital she had stopped breathing and we were told she had group B strep and meningitis. We were blue-lighted to Southampton Hospital where they took amazing care of her. After 1 week she was stable enough to be transferred back to Milton Keynes Hospital where she made a full recovery.
Bella-Skye was diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy at her 1 year paediatrician check up. She had an MRI scan to confirm this. They said from the brain scan the white matter damage to the brain will affect walking, talking, eating, toileting, pretty much everything.
Bella-Skye is 11 years old now and her beautiful smile lights up any room. She is learning to drive her power wheelchair. She loves singing, dancing,
books and wants to be an author when she grows up.
