Used Stamps for Fundraising

Change to Quilt Application procedure
As LoveQuiltsUK has grown, we have been unable to have quilt applications open permanently as we used to due to high demand. Recently, demand has been so high that we have only been able to open to new applications for a few hours every month. This situation has become quite difficult for everyone involved.

Therefore, Kat and Gaynor have decided to trial a monthly lottery system. Parents may enter the lottery via our Register a child page each month.

Around the start of each month (starting from July), the computer will draw applications at random, which will then go forward to have a quilt made. The lucky winners will be informed by Gaynor. Following this, the database will be wiped, and the lottery will start fresh for the next month and parents should re-apply.

Should an extra space become available for whatever reason (it is rare, but it does happen occasionally), this space will also be drawn randomly by a computer draw.

Hopefully this will make things a little easier for parents wishing to apply for a quilt.

We would suggest that lottery applicants put our email address contact@lovequiltsuk.com in their safe senders list in your email - just in case their winner email goes into a spam box and gets missed.


Direct Debit draw in May
We would like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Direct Debit draw during May.

We would particularly like to thank Emma Kearsley for her efforts - they were nothing short of heroic! Although we did not get enough votes for the big prizes we will get 100 pounds and a huge amount of awareness has been raised. We hope some of the contacts made during this time will assist with the calendar sale later this year for example.

Also thanks to Gemma for allowing Super Owain to fly around the Internet, Sandra who did the stitched advert, and to everyone who shared, posted to other groups/mailing lists and generally helped spread the word.

To give an idea, we had about 1000 votes more than there are people in our Facebook group, whereas the winners mustered less than 10% of the people in their much larger group. Well done to everyone and thank you! x


LoveQuilts Calendar 2015
We would like to thank Clare Bray who has been working very hard on the design for the forthcoming LoveQuiltsUK 2015 calendar. The deadline for sending in pictures to feature in the calendar has now passed.

Clare sent us this message:

"Thank you very much to everyone who's sent in pictures, I've received 253 pictures so a great response. After working my way through more combinations than I care to remember, I have decided on what will hopefully be the final selection. I've decided not to say who will be in it yet though just in case anything goes wrong at test print stage and I have to change over any of the pictures. If all goes to plan then ALL of the children whose pictures I have received (and replied to) will be in the calendar - those who aren't on main pages will be on the back page"

Thank you so much for your hard work, Clare. We will be taking orders for the calendar later this year - watch out for an announcement in September.
