News 12 Sep 2013 - 01 Oct 2013Quilt News We have been very busy since our last update and five quilts have been delivered: Riordan S's quilt (Male Disney Characters) - quilted by Kita:  Scarlett R's quilt (Minnie Mouse) - quilted by Anna:  Paddy B's quilt (Animals) - quilted by Evelyn:  Teddy T's quilt (Dogs and Puppies) - quilted by Vicky:  Lucas O's quilt (Pooh and friends (Emergency Quilt)) - quilted by Leanda:  Additionally, several emergency quilts have been completed - thanks to Sarah, Rebecca, Heather and Leanda for their hard work on those. Quilts opened/closed Rowan S's quilt was opened Aimee F's quilt was opened Isabella S's quilt was opened Stitch-a-long: Frogs's quilt was opened Stitch-a-long: Tatty Teddy's quilt was opened Stitch-a-long: Mr Men and Little Miss's quilt was opened Stitch-a-long: Forever Friends's quilt was opened All are now closed. Meet-up of stitchers Several of our stitchers met up in Manchester in September and had a good day stitching and looking up some quilts. Even some children's parents attended with quilts. Kat has been down to visit Gaynor. They spent some of the time shopping for fabric for emergency quilt packs at Lee Mill Fabrics in Swansea! They also went on a few nice walks around the Gower Coast:  Two quilts have been delivered since our last update: Chantelle J's quilt (Flowers with butterflies and dragonflies) - quilted by Carol:  Imogen A's quilt (Flowers with butterflies/dragonflies) - quilted by Valerie:  We also have an emergency quilt in the post to Melody D quilted by Rebecca. Leanda has completed her first quilt (Winnie the Pooh emergency quilt):  Rebecca has completed a lovely Jungle Emergency quilt:  Thank you to everybody involved in these quilts! There are many quilts being made up at the moment - these include Lilly M, Paddy B, Riordan S, Scarlett R, Sophie R, Teddy T and Tommy C. We thank the quilting volunteers for their enthusiastic response for taking these quilts on :) We have also sent out 6 quilt packs to new quilters Heather and Leanda - these ladies have been cross stitchers with us for quite a while and have recently taken quilting classes. Their group, Patchwork Parade Quilting Group are shortly to take on 4 of these quilts in a weekend quilting marathon. Good luck ladies! A further two quilts are being assembled by Sarah and will be shown to some of the stitchers who are meeting up in Manchester next weekend! Well done Sarah! We also received £31 from recycling printer cartridges this month. News 21 Jul 2013 - 19 Aug 2013Quilt News Sorry for the lack of updates this last month or so, Gaynor has been away! Three quilts have been delivered since our last update: Leah W's quilt (Pictures of Girls (Emergency Quilt)) - quilted by Sandra G:  Abigail K's quilt (Butterflies (Emergency Quilt)) - quilted by Treboeth Sewing Group:  Georgina P's quilt (Flowers, butterflies and dragonflies) - quilted by Mary:  We also received this lovely picture of the Special Kids in the UK group's summer camp. Many of these children have received a quilt from us and they sent us a photo of 12 quilts together!  Materials Gaynor has spent many hours this month purchasing, washing and generally sorting out fabric and wadding for the next few months. She would like to thank her helpers (Mrs T and Boyfriend :) ). Kat has been working very hard too, washing Any Child Squares ready to go forward to Emergency Quilt packs.
