Quilt News
Four quilts have been delivered since our last update:

Sponsored walk
More fundraising has been going on since our last update, and we would like to thank our stitcher Rachael Green, her son Thomas (10) and her sister Sarah Ward for undertaking a sponsored walk in aid of LoveQuiltsUK. They describe the walk as follows:

"12.5 miles along the canal from The Star pub in the canal town of Stone, through glorious Staffordshire Countryside, past the world-known Wedgewood Factory, past the home of Stoke City Football Club, the Britannia Stadium and through the heart of the potteries, with our destination being Wesport Lake in the north of the city."

Well, despite a rather rainy day, they did it, and raised £400 for LQUK! Well done Rachael, Sarah and Thomas (and Beth who joined in for the last half mile!) Here are some photos of the walk:

Lee Mill Fabrics
We would like to thank Lee Mill Fabrics in Swansea for offering LQUK a discount on the fabric we buy from them. They are an independent fabric store and their shop is like Aladdin's cave - just look at the video on their website! Well worth a visit if you're in the Swansea area!

Marion has completed the Cats Emergency quilt



The Guildford U3A Needlework group have completed a quilt for us on their own - with their members stitching bug squares and one of their number, Brenda, doing the quilting. Thank you very much ladies! One Bugs Emergency Quilt ready to go!

Fundraising
It has been a big week for fundraising with a fantastic group of girls, the Body Conditioning and Lyrical Dance group hiking to the top of Helvellyn in the Lake District to raise money for LQUK. They have raised £1000 for our funds and we are very grateful indeed to them for their efforts. Well done, girls! Here are some photos of the girls on Helvellyn:
