Susan Miller
We were very sorry to hear that Susan Miller, one of our stitchers had passed away. We were contacted by Susan's family with a generous donation for LQUK in lieu of funeral flowers. We thank Susan's family and friends very much for their kind generosity at a such a difficult time, and we send our condolences for their loss. We will miss Susan as a stitcher.


Early quilt
We received an email recently regarding a quilt that we delivered back in 2010.

I have been looking through my old emails to try and find your contact details. I just wanted to let you know in 2010 you made a special quilt for Alexander K and it is still used every day. He would not feel the same not going to bed without his quilt or on his Hospital stays. After all this time you are still making a difference to a little boy's happiness.

Polycotton thread
We have had a few incidents lately regarding polycotton thread which has melted under our quilters' irons.



We are really keen to avoid damage to both irons and squares! Please could you make sure that the threads you use are 100% cotton - (DMC/Anchor/Madeira) are best. Please do not be tempted by cheap deals on eBay as these are usually poor quality polycotton.

One Thousand Quilts for LQUK!
On 27th March 2018, LQUK reached 1000 quilts delivered with Caitlin H being the 1000th quilt sent out. A massive thank you to everyone who has contributed the countless volunteer hours to LQUK over the (almost) ten years this has taken. Fantastic work, everyone!


Patchwork Parade Quilting and Craft Exhibition
Well done and a massive thank you to Leanda, Heather and Nessa who ran a stall at this event and thank you also to everyone who contributed items such as lap quilts and bags for sale. A splendid £410 was raised for LQUK funds. Here are some photos of them in action:
